Man kills wife and ends life in Bengaluru

A couple were found dead inside their house in Thigalarapalya in Byadarahalli police station limits on Sunday evening with the husband’s body hanging from the ceiling while wife was lying dead on the floor.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunatha, 32 and his wife Roja, 28, were residing in a rented house in Thigalarapalya.

Senior officer with other squads rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

Manjunatha was working as a lathe machine operator and the couple were married for four years and had no children. Police said that the two had a lot of issues and frequently fought with each other.

According to the police, on Sunday afternoon too, the neighbours heard the couple fighting with each other frequently .

On Sunday evening, based on the neighbours complaint,the police visited the house and broke the door open as it was locked from inside.

Police found Manjunatha’s body hanging from the ceiling fan inside their room while Roja was found dead on the floor.

Police found evidence of struggle inside the house and broken bangles inside the room with blood stains.

“We suspect that the accused assaulted his wife and hit her head against the cupboard multiple times before killing her.

Following her death,he hung himself from the ceiling,” said a senior police officer.

The Byadarahalli police have registered a case and are investigating.
