The East Division police of KG Halli police on Wednesday arrested a south indian film actor from Nigerian for peddling drugs in the city to make quick money.
The accused has been identified as,Chekwume Malvin,45 a Nigerian National.
Senior officer told media persons,based on instructions by our Commissioner of police Kamal Pant to initiate a war on drug and form a special teams to nab drug Peddlers in the city.
Based on the instructions a special team as Anti-Narcotics special squad of KG Halli Police station headed by KG Halli Police inspector, Santhosh Kumar L received a credible information from their reliable inputs that a Nigerian National is in possession of narcotics substance and is selling drugs in HRBR layout in service road near BDA complex.
Based on credible information inspector and his special team swung into action and rushed to the spot the team surrounded the area and kept a close watch on the Nigerian National and when the Nigerian national was trying to sell the drug to his clients our team caught him red handed near BDA complex in HRBR layout.
And the team intercepted him and found narcotics substance in his possession and seized 15 grams of MDMA, 250 Mls of Hashish oil and cash Rs 2,500 along with a mobile phone total worth Rs.8 lakh from him.
During investigation the accused confessed the area and it has revealed that Malvin had come to India on medical visa and enrolled in the New York film academy in Mumbai to learn acting .
Earlier he had completed a six months course in acting from the same academy in Abuja in Nigeria .
After completing the course Malvin joined the south indian film industry and acted in over 20 films including Tamil,Malayalam and Kannada as Co-Star.
Some of the famous movies he acted in include Vishwaroopam,Singham, Annabond,Dilwale, Jambhu Savari and Paramatma.
A detailed investigation by the team the accused told that he wanted to make quick money and using a high network started peddling drugs.
The KG Halli have arrested him under NDPS act and are analyzing his phone to find out his network and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP East,Dr.SD Sharanappa,ACP,KG Halli sub-division,KS Jagadish,PI,Santhosh Kumar L,PSIs,as,Rajesh H,Babureddy,and crime staff as, Chandrashekhar,Imam Sab,Lokesh R,Shakeel Ahmed,Shivaraj Badiger and Raghunath R and others has been appreciated for the exemplary work done by them in nabbing the notorious Nigerian National drug peddler a co-star turned drug Peddler to earn quick buck and become rich is now cooling his heels in jail and for the commendable job done by the team a suitable reward will be given to them he added.
