A 23-year-old PhD student ended his life allegedly by consuming some chemical at his hostel room in IISc on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as,Rajarshi Mukherjee is pursuing PhD in organic Chemistry and was living in the hostel situated in the IISc campus.
The incident came to light when the parents of the decease tried to reach him on his phone and later called the neighbouring student requesting to check on her.
The neighbor went to the room to find Rajashri was lying on the bed.She alerted the security and later the police rushed to the spot and shifted him to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The police visited the spot to conduct spot inspection.Inquiries revealed that he was suffering from Bipolar disorder and being treated at NIMHANS.
The viscera samples sent to FSL to ascertain the cause of death and further investigation is on.
