Youths booked for joyride during Covid night curfew Sadashivanagar police Seized Benz car

The Sadashiva Nagar police have booked youths and seized a luxury ( Mercedes benz),car after a group of people including boys and girls set out for a jolly ride with blaring music and open rooftop during night curfew on Saturday night.

The police swung into action after media highlights the blatant violation and booked the owner of the car charging him under section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and section 336 (rash or negligent act to endanger human life or the personal safety of others).

According to the police the car belonging to well known businessman Sanjith Shetty,who is out of city at the time of incident.

Someone in his family had used the car and the police are investigating to take necessary action.

The joy ride caused a nuisance among the residents and the car moved around the residential area with a blaring music and cheering and shouting of the occupants .

It may be recalled that after the tragic accident which killed seven people including TN MLA Son in Koramangala in August,the city traffic police have stepped up the vigil to enforce night curfew strictly.

The driver of the luxury car had even put out a sticker of “on duty essential service”,issued by the authorities concerned .

The car has been seized by the Sadashivanagar traffic police and further investigation is on said a senior officer.
