Posing as a customer,an unidentified man booked a cab and later sped away with the vehicles after leaving the driver behind.
The incident occurred in Talaghattapura when cab driver Shekhar VP,gets a call from an unknown number asking to get dropped home .
Shekhar agreed and went near Adhishwara showroom and picked up the customer later identified as Ashok.
The accused asked him to take him to Anjnapura and started drinking beer in the car.
After moving to the isolated place on Tulasipur main road,the accused asked Shekhar to stop as he wanted to relieve.
The driver stopped the car and after a few minutes he got to relive,following which the accused who was waiting for this opportunity, came back and got into the car and sped away.
Shekhar shouted for help and even tried to chase but the accused managed to escape. Shekhar even lost his mobile phone,wallet and bank documents, DL PAN card,Aadhar and other documents.Shekhar managed to reach Talaghatapura police and filed a complaint .
The police have taken up a case of robbery and trying to track down the accused based on the mobile phone number which the accused used to book the cab.
