As many as 14 rowdy sheeters from west and southeast divisions have been booked under arms act and NDPS act after the police recovered lethal weapons (swords, machetes and daggers) from their houses while some of them were caught under the influence of drugs during the raids on Saturday.
Chamarajpet police arrested Momeen pasha,and Bonda Anwar pasha.Byatarayanapura police arrested,koushik@kariya s/o mallikarjun, 22yr,Veera, s/o late perumal,25yr, jaikar s/o Suresh, 21yr,Raju,s/o armugam,24yr, Karthik, s/o late Raju, 19yr.
Meanwhile the southeast division police also arrested seven rowdies under NDPS after they were caught under the influence of drugs during the raid .
The police suspect that the rowdies who have been booked under the NDPS act are linked to the drug racket and investigations are on to ascertain the exact involvement,a senior police officer said .
There are many rowdies and habitual offenders were not present at the house during the surprise checks and efforts are on to track them down.
The remaining rowdies have been questioned about their present activities and taken an undertaking that they would not be involved in any anti-social activities.
While FIR registered against 7 rowdies under NDPS and arms act the medical reports of around 33 rowdies are awaited.Action will be taken based on reports,Sanjeev Patil,DCP, west said.
