Three held Remdesivir Blackmarketing racket busted by Basaveshwaranagar police 25 Vials Seized:

The West Division police of Basaveshwaranagar police have arrested three persons who were selling Remdesivir injections in black market charging exorbitant price and recovered 25 vials from them.

The accused has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar,32,from Bommanahalli in Electronic city and his associates Pratheek,27,and Abhijith,20 .

Senior officer,told reporters,our Basaveshwaranagar police inspector,E Yeriswamy received a reliable inputs that a person is indulged in selling Remdesivir injections and the informant passed all details about the person.

After getting information the Basaveshwaranagar police inspector,Yeriswamy,acting on the reliable inputs he contacted the person on his mobile number who introduced himself as Sanjeev Kumar and asked to contact a person by name Abhijit and he passed his number.

Our Inspector posing as prospective customer contacted the person on his mobile number seeking a Remdesivir injections the caller told Inspector he has got vials and agreed to send so we ordered 2 vials for which he agreed and told us he is selling for Rs.10,000 each Vials and asked to send advance payment through online.

To gain his confidence the Inspector transferred the advance payment and after receiving the payment the person agreed to send two vials the accused sent a person identified as Abhijith to hand over the two vials on Thimmaiah road at Mahaganapathinagar on Monday and to get the remaining amount.

As soon as he arrived with the Remdesivir vials the Inspector and his team caught him red handed and took him to police station for questioning.

During Investigation the accused confessed the crime and based on his confession the team arrested Sanjeev and Pratheek and recovered a total of 25 vials from their possession.

A detailed investigation by the team led the accused to confess the crime and it was revealed that they are working in a pharmacy and sourced the Remdesivir from their contact in Kerala so that they could sell it in the city due to the demand and make quick money.

The MRP of the injection is Rs 3400 per vial but the accused are selling it for Rs 10,000 each vial.

The trio have been booked under Drug control Act and cheating and we have taken them into custody for further investigations and to ascertain their network.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP West,Dr.Sanjeev M Patil,ACP, Vijayanagar Sub-Division,K Nanjundegowda,PI,E Yeriswamy,PSI,as,Kubera,ASI,Puttaswamy,and crime staff as,Mohammed Ali,Raghu,Ramesh, Srinivas and Rupesh has been appreciated for the exemplary work done by them in busting the racket and nabbing the trio and the team has successfully seized 25 vials from them and a for the excellent work done by the team a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
