Two killed,one injured as portion of under-construction building collapses in Marathahalli

Two labourers buried alive while another injured after a mud wall collapsed on them at an under construction site in Devarabeesanahalli in Marathahalli on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Jambhanna (40),a native of Koppala and Bheemaraya,(34),from Kalaburagi.The injured Veeranna B,shifted to nearby hospital.They were staying in Devarabeesanahalli in sheds along with their families.

The Marathahalli police along with fire and emergency service personnel rushed
to the spot and recovered the victims buried under the heap of mud with the help of JCB machine.

There were totally seven labourers working at the time of the incident.while four escaped narrowly while the trio buried under the heap before they could react.

According to the police,the incident occurred around 3.30 pm and the six of the labourers were digging mud at the basement of the site
and the mud wall was in complete wet condition due to recent heavy rain.

A part of the mud wall collapsed on them and three of them managed to escape while two were buried under heap of the mud.Veeranna had injuries and was rescued by fire personnel and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is recovering stable.

The Marathahalli police have registered a case of negligence against the site engineer and contractor charging them under death due to negligence.
