NCB unearthed International Drug Racket,Seized amphetamine drugs worth Rs.20 lakhs concealed in cricket thigh guard:

The Bengaluru Zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has unearthed an international drug racket and seized 515 grams of amphetamine hidden in sports goods that were scheduled to be shipped to Doha,Qatar.

According to the NCB,Acting on intelligence inputs,on 08.04.2021,NCB, Bengaluru Zonal Unit seized 515 gms of Amphetamine from a parcel destined for Doha, Qatar from Bengaluru through courier.

It was set to be shipped via an international courier service last week.

The team intercepted the goods van and found the contraband was concealed inside cricket thigh guards in the parcel along with cricket hand gloves and elbow guards.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the parcel had been sent by one S.Nashath from Kasaragod, Kerala,to A.Kuzhiyal in Doha.

During the follow up action,the consignor of the parcel S.Nasthath,was apprehended and arrested on 13.04.21 from Mangaluru.Investigations are on to ascertain the magnitude of the racket.
