Conman withdraws cash, jams ATMs,arrested by Rajajinagar police,Seized 48 ATM cards with cash Rs.58,000:

The North Division police of Rajajinagar police have a arrested a 20 year old youth on charges of withdrawing fraudulently from their friends bank account using their ATM cards.The police have recovered 48 ATM cards and Rs 58,000 from him.

The accused has been identified as,Deepak,20,from Hameerpur of Uttar Pradesh.

Senior officer told media persons,based on the series of reports on such technical snags,a team of employees from a cash management company kept a close watch on the ATMs which had reported such problems frequently.

As there were series of complaint of technical snags in ATMs,based on which the cash management company deployed a special officer to check what led to technical snag.

Alert staff of a cash management company caught a 20-year-old conman who was withdrawing cash from ATMs fraudulently keeping the cash in the account intact.

On Wednesday,Uma Mahesh,one of the employees who was keeping a watch at the central bank ATM on Dr Rajkumar road in Rajajinagar caught Deepak red handed.

The conman was later handed over to the Rajajinagar police for further investigations.

The Rajajinagar police inspector,Venkatesh NR and his team who took up the case and started investigation the team took the accused into custody and during interrogation the accused confessed the crime and the team grilled him who spilled the beans and a detailed Investigation by the team was carried out.

The conman revealed that he would ingeniously jam the machines and the system would send a report of technical snag.His luck ran out when the alert staff of a cash management company caught him red-handed.

The accused Deepak said he along with two of his associates had come to the city a few months ago and stayed in a rented house in Doddakallasandra.

He befriended people from his state and borrowed their debit card on the pretext of getting money from his family and promised to give them commission for using their card.

Using the cards the accused would visit the ATMs across the city which have no security .

The accused would enter the PIN and the cash from the account,but as soon as the cash comes out Deepak places his fingers at the entrance of the cash dispenser unit to jam and at the same time would pull out the currency.

Due to this technique the machine would send a report of technical snag and the moey would not be deducted from the account.

Using this Modus Operandi Deepak had withdrawn as many as Rs.5 lakh from different ATMs across the city in a span of one month.based on his statement the team have recovered 48 ATM cards and Rs 58,000 recovered from him.

A case has been registered in Rajajinagar police station and the police are now on the lookout for two of his associates who are on the run.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated,Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP North,Dharmendra Kumar Meena, ACP Malleswaram Sub-Division,KS Venkatesh Naidu,PI,Venkatesh NR,PSI,M Subramani and other crime staff for the commendable job done by them who has done a exemplary work in nabbing the conman and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
