The promotion of Manjula B Hunagundi as head constable is a historical event in the police department, the first of its kind. This event was realized due to amendment in the cadre recruitment rules.

Its a motivating factor and move towards empowering women. Its a proud moment for the police force.

KSRP considered lowest among the police department where promotion is only solace for the personnel .

That means promotion is the only reward for KSRP personnel compares to Civil Police counterparts.

Earlier the personnel have to wait for five years to get promotion which as per the new amendment in the state service rules reduced to three years.

The KSRP which has separate cadre for men and women will be merged soon,Alok Kumar said.

This is to make the force on par with other armed forces .

The personnel who have been promoted and posted to the locations of their choices have been reminded to keep fit and not to allow belly fat.

Those who have exceeded the BMI scale have been given deadline to become fit or face disciplinary action he added.
