Kamakshipalya police station rape,murder accused arrested in Goa:

The crime branch of Goa Police on Tuesday arrested a 23-year-old man from Canacona in Goa, who is a rape and murder accused wanted by Bengaluru Police.

In a swift action by the kamakshipalya police the goa crime branch police on Wednesday nabbed 23 year old youth involving in rape and murder of his 42 year old friend at his house on Monday.

The accused has been identified as,Praveen,23,year old resident of Ranganathpura,working as bar cashier.

Senior officer,told media persons,a complaint of rape and murder case was registered by deceased husband based on which a special team was formed to nab the accused.

Team led by DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,under the leadership of ACP,Vijayanagar Sub-Division, Nanjundegowda,PIs,as,Prashanth M,Sreenivas GT and his team swung into action.

Based on technical inputs the team tracked the accused to Goa,immediately the team passed the information to their counterparts and based on the information the Goa police detained the accused who escaped after commiting crime.

A special team was sent to Goa and the team brought him to Bengaluru and during interrogation the accused Praveen confessed to the crime stating that the murder was not intentional but the victim suffocated during the intimate moments and fell unconscious the accused said during investigation.

The duo reportedly consumed alcohol before the act and Praveen did not realize the condition of the victim.

When he realized that she is not responding, praveen sensed trouble and instead of taking her to the hospital lock the house and escaped.

Meanwhile based on the complaint of husband, the police carried extensive search before recovering the body.The police also recovered liquor bottles and cigarette packs from the spot.

Praveen said that he had an affair with deceased Aruna kumari few months ago.He said Aruna kumari used to pass through his bar daily to go to work and they been to relationship from past few months.

We are awaiting for post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.The body did not have any visible marks to ascertain the cause of death he added.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has thanked the Goa police and their team for helping in nabbing the accused and appreciated,Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil and his team as,ACP, Nanjundegowda,PIs, Prashanth M, Sreenivas GT,and their crime staff who has done a commendable and exemplary work in nabbing the accused within 48 hours he added.
