Kejriwal Government fails miserably to check the spread of Covid-19 pandemic—Ch. Anil Kumar

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar slammed the Kejriwal Government for the disturbed conditions of the health sector in Delhi for fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that medical staff in hospitals are working in difficult conditions as they are not being provided essential protective gear and equipment to treat Corona patients. He said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been making tall talks on television but the ground reality in the Delhi Government hospitals has been pathetic as the medical staff are working without proper facilities. Ch. Anil Kumar said that the G.B.Pant Hospital doctors, nurses and other medical staff today protested against the irregularities in the functioning of the hospital, and expressed their anguish. He quoted the staff of the hospital saying that the Kejriwal Government has totally failed in combating the Corona pandemic, as even for small, small things, the medical staff have to jostle to get them, even for essential gear like masks, gloves and sanitizers.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the medical staff today protested outside the G.B.Pant Hospital, and alleged that the Medical Superintendent comes, checks his mail, marks his attendance and then scoots. He said that the staff deputed to treat Corona positive cases are not being given meals, as they are forced to work in highly stressful conditions. Ch. Anil Kumar said that the medical staff, who do duty in sensitive wards, are not being given PPE kits either. He said that the staff are put to humiliating questioning before giving the PPE kits, as if they use it for some other purpose. He said that even forms are not available for patients to fill up and they are put through to many difficulties for conducting the tests.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that there are irregularities galore in the health sector, and the medical staff are living in dread, as they are not being provided any facility. He said that the Kejriwal Government not to play with the lives of the people of Delhi by disturbing the health sector. He wondered how the Delhi Government will wage a determined fight against the Corona virus with the present unsettled health sector. He said that the Delhi Government should not push the people of Delhi to the edge as they are already hassled and tired by the Covid-19 lockdown consequences. He said that the Delhi Government should immediately shore up the health sector, and provide proper facilities to the doctors, nurses and other medical staff to face the challenge thrown up by the Covid-19 pandemic head on. He said that if the medical staff are not taken into confidence, the long-term consequences will be terrible.
