Crossing Barriers Discussion on book Destiny’s Flower, by Kajoli Khanna along with Maneka Gandhi

Crossing Barriers, a book discussion organized by Rajeev Khanna and Roli Books was organized at Friends Club, Patio Hall. Kajoli Khanna an eminent writer and master story weaver, discussed her book Destiny’s Flower, the book discussion was introduced by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Member of Loksabha. The discussion revolved around the quote from Lord Buddha, “What the mind creates only the mind can Undo”, how dealing with situations is all in the mind of an individual.

Destiny’s Flower was born out of Kajoli’s personnel involvement and 20 years of work with underprivileged children and people with different strata.  The book is a product of her observations during her NGO trips and her interaction with different people going through tough times in life. Taking her observation forward in this discussion Kajoli spoke extensively about what the book focuses on; how to deal with stress and overcome trauma, and Living Life in the Moment; something that is now part of everyone’s daily life. In her own words Kajoli explains, “I have seen the life of the unprivileged and the victims of the social system in person while working as a social worker, my story is not fiction it is real and in parts inspired by real people in real situations. The emotions in the book are real, I have felt them as I worked with people struggling through different phases and situations in their life.”
