Vaikunthyan – a hearse van – inaugurated in Delhi’s Sant Nagar

Delhi-based NGO AAP International inaugurated Vaikunthyan, a hearse service, today at Gurudwara Sant Nagar East of Kailash. The entire cost of hearse is INR 15 lakh, which was entirely contributed by industrialist KG Maheswari.

The event was held in the presence of Smt Kaushalya Parmar, National Vice President, Mahila Morcha (BJP) Gujarat, Smt. Shikha Arya, Chairperson Standing Committee, SDMC, Shri Rakesh Rajora, Kunwar Vikram Singh, Shri GR Sehgal, President Senior Citizen Welfare Association Sant Nagar East of Kailash. Shri JR Gupta, Chairman of Confederation of Senior Citizens’ Associations of Delhi, Shri Anant Kumar Gunjan, SHO Amar Colony police station, including many Sant Nagar resident and senior citizens were present during the event.

Mr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma Chairman AAP International and Ms. Niharika Sharma Treasurer AAP International welcomed all the guests.

Mr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Chairman AAP International while addressing the gathering said, “We are happy that the hearse van has been inaugurated today. All this will be used to serve the people and will be free for the poor. We are thankful to Shri KG Maheshwari who has donated it. There is a tradition of our society that the last journey of the deceased should be respected in the same way as we honour the living.”

Mr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma further added that, “This vehicle is equipped with all the modern facilities such as air conditioners, compressors, etc. If a deceased’s family or a close relative are out of the country, they can use the service as the body of the deceased will be kept safe until their arrival. We will strive to bring more such vehicles soon in Delhi-NCR.”

Mr. KG Maheshwari, Chairman Krishna Beads Industries Mumbai, said, “I am happy that with our effort, the residents of Sant Nagar will be able to enjoy this facility. If we all try to do our best for the society then true happiness can be achieved.”
