Ayurveda treated a 67-year-old man suffering from Peripheral Neuropathy

August 2021 / Gurugram: Jiva Ayurveda has treated a 67-year-old patient from Gurugram suffering from peripheral neuropathy for the last two years. Peripheral neuropathy is caused by damage to the nerves located outside the brain or spinal cord and its symptoms involve weakness, numbness and pain, usually in the hands and feet. It can also affect other areas and body functions, including digestion, urination and blood circulation. A common cause of peripheral neuropathy is diabetes, but it can also result from injuries, infections and exposure to toxins. In Ayurveda, it is called Vaata Vikara and is caused due to an increase in vata and pitta doshas.
The patient was experiencing numbness, pain, burning and a tingling sensation over both his upper and lower limbs for the last six months. He’s a diabetic and had tried the allopathic route before choosing Ayurveda. His routine blood checkup had revealed that he suffered from Vitamin D and B12 deficiency. He was in extreme pain when he visited the Jiva clinic for the consultation as his daily routine was being affected by the disease symptoms. Besides taking timely treatment and medicines, he followed all the instructions given by the doctor religiously. He continued the treatment for two years and experienced complete relief from the discomforting symptoms. He had no pain or tingling sensation over his hands and legs. All this was possible due to the sound advice by Jiva Ayurveda doctors, who use personalised, scientific and data-driven treatment methods, combining the wisdom of Ayurveda with a healthy diet and lifestyle practice.
