The Batlahalli police in Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur district have arrested a 35-year-old man and seized a country-made gun and 146 country-made bombs allegedly stored illegally at his house.
The accused has been identified as Narasimhappa,a resident of Bodagundlahalli village.
Acting on a tip-off that weapons and country-made bombs had been illegally stored at a house in the village, a police team led by Kencharlahalli Police Station I and Batlahalli Police Station raided the premises.
During the search,the police found and seized a country-made gun and 146 country-made bombs and arrested Narasimhappa.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the bombs had allegedly been stored for hunting wild animals.he is suspected to be the main supplier of the weapons to the people in and around th village .
The police are interrogating the accused to ascertain the source of the weapons and explosives, who supplied them and the purpose for which they were kept.
Further investigation is under way.
