*Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls–2026: Public grievances to be addressed through 1950 helpline.
District Election Officer,Bengaluru and GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao said that necessary measures must be taken to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.
A meeting with the representatives of recognised political parties was held under his chairmanship at the GBA Head Office in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls–2026.
Addressing the meeting,he instructed officials to create greater awareness among the public about the SIR process and ensure that all necessary information regarding SIR reaches the public.
1950 Helpline to Address Public Grievances:
The public can contact the 1950 helpline for any information,issues or doubts related to SIR.Officials were instructed to record the grievances received from the public and provide appropriate solutions to them.
Strict Action as per Rules Against Officials Failing to Perform Their Duties Properly:
ADEOs must ensure that no eligible voter within their jurisdiction is left out of the electoral roll.
While instructing officials to carry out the SIR process in accordance with the rules and with due responsibility, Chief Commissioner warned that strict action as per the rules would be taken against officials who neglect their duties or fail to perform them properly.
He appealed to representatives of recognised political parties and the public to cooperate with election officials to ensure that the SIR process is conducted in a transparent and effective manner.
City Corporation Commissioners,Pommala Sunil Kumar, K.N. Ramesh,Dr.Rajendra K.V,representatives of recognised political parties and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.
