The Mico Layout police have arrested a Bihar native for allegedly strangling his wife to death following a domestic dispute at their rented house in Bilekahalli on Wednesday.
According to the police,the couple,originally from Bihar, had been staying with their two children as tenants at a house in Bilekahalli within the Mico Layout police station limits since December 2025.
For the past three months,the couple had reportedly been frequently quarrelling over domestic issues.
On September 16,after their children left for school in the morning, the accused returned home from work and allegedly picked up a quarrel with his wife.
During the altercation,he allegedly strangled her with a veil,resulting in her death due to suffocation.
Following the incident,a murder case was registered at Mico Layout police station.
The police secured the accused on the same day and subjected him to questioning.During interrogation,he allegedly confessed to killing his wife following a quarrel over a trivial issue, police said.
The investigation is underway.
The case was detected under the guidance of Mohammed Sujeetha M.S,IPS,Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-East Division,and under the leadership of Nagaraju S,Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mico Layout Sub-Division.
Nataraj D.N,Police Inspector,Mico Layout Police Station, and other police personnel were part of the team that detected the case.
