Bengaluru:Man arrested for killing childhood friend after calling him for reconciliation

A 30-year-old man was allegedly brutally murdered by being hit on the head with a stone in an apparent fallout of an old rivalry in the K.G.Halli police station limits in Bengaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Arjun,who was attacked near the K.G.Halli railway gate.

Senior officer told reporters that the accused,identified as Palani,allegedly followed Arjun before attacking him and repeatedly hitting him on the head with a stone, resulting in his death.

Police suspect that the murder was linked to a long-standing dispute between Arjun and Palani.

The two had reportedly been involved in several altercations over the past few months,and cases had been registered against both at the K.G.Halli police station.

The rivalry had reportedly intensified after an altercation between the two last year.Another clash allegedly took place around six to eight months ago.

Police sources said that Arjun had allegedly created a scene during Palani’s wedding,following which Palani had lodged a complaint against him at the K.G.Halli police station.

The accused allegedly attacked Arjun on Monday night, reportedly taking advantage of their old rivalry.

K.G.Halli police have registered a murder case and taken Palani into custody for questioning.Police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the attack and the motive behind the murder.
