In a swift action,the Hebbagodi police have arrested a couple and their associate for abducting their relative on Wednesday to recover the money they owned to them.
According to police reports,the complaint was filed by the victim,Prithvi,following an attack carried out by the accused identified as her elder sister Prafulla,husband Saleem Sheikh and another their associate Beeresh,a driver by profession .
The accused reportedly assaulted the victim and his wife and abducted them.The incident took place on the night of April 14 at the victim’s residence in Anantanagar in Hebbagodi .
The accused allegedly arrived in a car at the house, created ruckus,and forcibly took the couple in a car under the pretext of discussing a financial matter.
During the incident,the accused assaulted the victims and later confined them at a house in Nagarabhavi.They also allegedly threatened the victims and attempted to extort money.
The victims were warned not to approach the police and were reportedly threatened with severe consequences.
Police stated that the accused had taken a loan of approximately Rs.9.5 lakh from the victim’s family,of which Rs.5 lakh had already been repaid.The remaining amount had led to disputes between the parties.
When the victim phones was swtiched off worried family members complained to the police.The police swung into action traced the location of the victims to a house in Nagarabhavi and successfully rescued them.
The accused were taken into custody and are currently being interrogated for further investigation.
