A 38-year-old woman,who had been reported missing, was found murdered under the jurisdiction of the Dabaspete Police Station on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
The deceased has been identified as Yamuna (38),a resident of Tumakuru district.She had been working for the past six months at a private company near Nelamangala.
The deceased Yamuna was married about 19 years ago and is survived by her husband and two children.
Her skeletal remains,along with personal belongings including a bag,slippers,water bottle,company ID card, and Aadhaar card,were discovered near National Highway-48 close to a farmland in the area.
Senior officer told reporters that Yamuna had left for work on March 21 but never returned home.Her husband had filed a missing complaint at the Kyatsandra Police Station.
The remains were found after a local resident noticed bones in his farmland and alerted the police.
Upon inspection,authorities confirmed the identity of the deceased through the recovered items.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Yamuna was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with a man named Raghavendra from Kodigehalli village in Tumakuru.
The Family members have alleged that the accused had been threatening her, warning of dire consequences if she did not continue the relationship.
CCTV footage reportedly shows Yamuna walking with Raghavendra on the day she went missing.
Police suspect that an argument between the two near the farmland may have led to the murder.
Raghavendra is currently absconding,and police have launched a manhunt to trace and apprehend him.
