Man arrested by RR Nagar police for allegedly pushing his 75-year-old paralytic mother from terrace in Bengaluru

A 42-year-old man a son of victim allegedly murdered his elderly mother by pushing her from the terrace of a residential building in RR Nagar on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim,Savithramma (72),had been suffering from paralysis and was bedridden for the past four to five years.

The accused, her son Venkatesh,a sales executive,has been taken into custody.

The family was residing on the second floor of a three-storeyed building in BEML Layout.

Senior officer said,Venkatesh,who is married and lives with his wife and mother,allegedly carried Savithramma to the terrace before pushing her down.

She fell to the ground and died on the spot.Passers-by who noticed the incident alerted the police.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was distressed over his mother’s prolonged illness.

During questioning,he reportedly told police that he could no longer bear her suffering and decided to kill her.

RR Nagar Police with senior officers and SOCO team rushed to the scene,conducted a spot inspection,and initiated a probe.

Based on initial findings and his alleged confession, Venkatesh was arrested.

A case of murder has been registered,and further investigation is underway to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the incident he added.
