Tension prevailed in Nandini Layout after a lorry carrying domestic gas cylinders overturned on Friday,triggering panic among locals.
According to preliminary information,the incident occurred in Nandini Layout,where the truck loaded with household LPG cylinders lost control and toppled on the road.The vehicle was reportedly carrying a large number of cylinders,raising fears of a potential disaster.
Emergency response teams rushed to the spot immediately and took swift measures to ensure that there was no gas leakage.Their timely action helped avert a major mishap.
The lorry driver sustained injuries in the accident, particularly to his hand,and was provided medical attention.
The accident also caused damage to the rear portion of a car nearby.
In a dramatic turn,two two-wheeler riders had a miraculous escape.CCTV footage of the incident shows that the riders narrowly avoided being crushed as the lorry overturned within seconds of their passing.
A case has been registered at the Rajajinagar Traffic Police Station,and further investigation is underway.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially while transporting hazardous materials within city limits.
