As many as 21 passengers and crew members of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus had a narrow escape after the vehicle caught fire while in motion near Lulu Mall late on Thursday night.
According to preliminary information,the incident occurred around 10:20 pm when the bus was en route from Majestic to Shivamogga.
Flames were first noticed from the lower portion of the bus, prompting the driver to immediately halt the vehicle and evacuate all passengers.
Within moments,the fire intensified and engulfed the bus.Fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames.No injuries or casualties were reported.
Initial reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by a diesel leak, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.Police and transport officials are assessing the cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the vehicle.
