A 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed a woman and her brother to death following a dispute linked to an alleged extramarital relationship in Northwest Bengaluru on Thursday.

The victims have been identified as Yamuna (36) and her younger brother Sudeep (34).

The accused is the minor son of a woman named Chaya, with whom Yamuna’s husband,Mallegowda, was reportedly in a relationship.

According to the complaint filed by Mallegowda,he had earlier lent Rs.2 lakh to Chaya, which she repaid recently.

However, suspicion and frequent quarrels persisted within his family over his alleged relationship with her.

About three months ago, both families had a confrontation, which was later settled, and a complaint had also been lodged at the Byadarahalli police station in January.

During the altercation,Chaya’s 16-year-old son allegedly attacked Yamuna and Sudeep with a knife, stabbing them multiple times on the neck and body. Both victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot.

Mallegowda, who rushed to the scene after receiving a call, found the bodies lying in a pool of blood inside the house.

Police have registered a case of murder and detained the minor.Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the couple’s 18-year-old son alleged that the accused had deliberately called his mother and uncle to the house with the intention of attacking them.

He further claimed that his sister attempted suicide by consuming acid after learning about the incident. She is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital and is said to be out of danger, according to doctors.
