Bengaluru traffic police book 756 cases in special drive against drunk driving,overspeeding

The Bengaluru Traffic Police conducted a week-long special enforcement drive against drunk driving and overspeeding across the city,registering a total of 756 cases.

The drive,carried out between March 16 and March 22, covered all 53 traffic police stations in Bengaluru, targeting motorists driving under the influence of alcohol and those violating speed limits.

Under the drunk driving crackdown, officials checked as many as 45,568 vehicles and booked 634 cases against offenders.

In a parallel drive against overspeeding, police registered 122 cases and collected fines amounting to Rs.1.29 lakh.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at curbing dangerous driving practices and enhancing road safety in the city.

The traffic police also indicated that such special drives will continue in the coming days to ensure stricter compliance with traffic regulations.
