A security guard allegedly murdered his wife by slitting her throat following a quarrel over a trivial issue at their residence in Bilekahalli under the limits of Mico Layout Police Station on Sunday night.
Senior officer told reporters that the complaint was lodged by the couple’s son on Monday.The family, originally from Davanagere district,had shifted to Bengaluru about four years ago and had been living in Bilekahalli.
The complainant stated that the father worked as a security guard while the mother was employed in housekeeping.The complainant is engaged in catering work.
Police said the accused was addicted to alcohol and frequently picked quarrels with his wife.On March 15 between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm, he allegedly got into an argument with her over a trivial issue and attacked her with a knife,slitting her throat and killing her on the spot.
After committing the crime,the accused fled the scene.
Based on the complaint,a murder case has been registered at Mico Layout Police Station.
Police have formed special teams to trace and arrest the absconding accused.The investigation is underway.
