Miscreants attacked condiments shop owner for refusing to provide cigarettes for free two arrested

A group of miscreants allegedly attacked a condiments shop and attempted to assault its owner after he refused to give them cigarettes for free in the Byatarayanapura police station limits on Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 9.30 pm.According to preliminary information,the accused reportedly demanded free cigarettes from the shop owner.When he refused,they allegedly barged into the shop and created ruckus.

The miscreants are said to have thrown around items kept inside the condiments store,leaving goods scattered and damaged.They also allegedly attempted to assault the shop owner.

Sensing danger,the owner managed to escape from the spot.However,during the commotion,one of the customers present in the shop was allegedly assaulted by the accused.

Police have registered an attempt to murder case in connection with the assault on a condiments shop owner in the limits of Byatarayanapura Police Station.

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the shop owner,Raju,who alleged that he was attacked by miscreants following a dispute.

Acting swiftly,Byatarayanapura police arrested two accused in connection with the incident.

The arrested have been identified as Kamal Manjesh and Srinivas,both residents of Avalahalli in Byatarayanapura.

Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and whether others were involved in the attack.
