A 28-year-old spa owner was allegedly kidnapped in a dramatic manner within the limits of the Electronic City police station on Sunday.
The victim identified as Ashith Jha (28),a native of Bihar and a resident of Tirupalya.He was running a spa in Akshayanagar,Begur,in partnership with others.
Investigators suspect that the abduction may have stemmed from a dispute between business partners.
According to police,Ashith was returning home from the spa on a motorcycle along with the manager, Manukumar,when four unidentified men intercepted them near Bettadasanapur.
The accused,who arrived in a car,allegedly rammed the bike,causing both riders to fall on the road.
The attackers then allegedly assaulted Ashith on his leg with a wooden log before forcibly bundling him into the car and fleeing the scene.
Manukumar managed to escape despite sustaining injuries.He was later admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
The Electronic City police rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. A case has been registered, and officials said the victim remains untraceable.
We are working based on technical evidence.Efforts are on to trace the victim and arrest the suspects at the earliest,”a senior police officer said.
