Bengaluru Shocker:Drunken Rage Turns Deadly;Bengaluru Bodybuilder Killed in Car Rammed by Software Engineer arrested by Hebbagodi police

A 34-year-old man was killed after being dragged by a car following a violent altercation late on Friday night under the limits of Hebbagodi police station.

The deceased has been identified as Prashanth,son of Manjunath,a resident of Veerasandra.

The accused has been identified as Roshan Hegde,aged 33.

According to the complaint,the incident occurred on 24 January 2026.Prashanth and the accused,both friends were together behind M5 Mall,where a cricket match was being played.After the match,both consumed alcohol at the ground.

An argument broke out between the two over a cigarette lighter,which escalated into a physical fight.The accused allegedly assaulted Prashanth with a beer bottle,while Prashanth also retaliated.During the scuffle,the accused sustained injuries.

Later,the accused allegedly attempted to flee in his car. Prashanth reportedly clung to the car door,refusing to let him escape.Despite this,the accused continued driving at high speed along the Veerasandra–Kamasandra Road.

Senior officer said the accused deliberately rammed the car into a tree and later into a compound wall in an attempt to knock off Prashanth.

Due to the impact,Prashanth suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.Initially,the incident was reported to emergency services as a road accident.

However,upon detailed examination, police concluded that it was a case of murder.The entire sequence of events was captured on the car’s dash camera,which served as crucial evidence.The accused was arrested within one hour of the incident.

A case has been registered at Hebbagodi police station, and further investigation is underway.
