Continue crack down,as part of the Prison Reforms Sankalpa initiative,officials of the Central Prison of Parappana Agrahara on Monday night conducted surprise inspections and recovered Four mobile phones, two SIM cards and a charger .
Based on the recovery of these banned items and their illegal use inside the prison,a case has been registered under Section 42 of the Karnataka Prisons (Amendment) Act, 2022, along with other relevant provisions.
An FIR has been lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison Police Station, and further legal action is under way.
According to the officials since November 26 to January 12,the surprise inspections carried out by the officials found 131 mobile phones,100 SIM cards and 27 charges along with cash Rs.64,880 and other banned items found in the prison.
