As many as seven people had a narrow escape when a speeding car rammed into a road divider and crashed into a hotel on 100 Feet Road in Indiranagar late on Thursday night.The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage.
Senior officer told reporters that the accident occurred around 11:34 pm when a over speeding (Skoda)car, came from 18th Main Road,Indiranagar.
The driver,who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol,failed to take a left turn and instead drove straight jumped onto the divider before crashing into a hotel.
At the time of the incident,a group of young men and women who had finished dinner were standing outside the hotel.
Hearing the loud crash as the car hit the divider,they quickly ran away,narrowly escaping injury.
It is said the accident was caused by overspeeding and drunk driving,and that the car owner himself was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.He sustained minor injuries and admitted to the hospital.
The police are awaiting for his recovery to question him.
A case has been registered under the jurisdiction of the Jeevanbheemanagar Traffic Police Station.No injuries were reported in the incident.
