The Tilaknagar police have registered an FIR against TV serial artiste for blackmailing her neighbour with her private photos to extort Rs.2 crore .
Based on the complaint filed by Parvati,61,the police have charged the accused identified as Asha jois under section 66E ( intentional or knowing capture, publication, or transmission of an image of a person’s private area without their consent,which occurs under circumstances that violate their privacy) of the IT act.
According to the complaint,the accused befriended the victim and became close to her claiming that she is TV serial actress and belonging to a respectable family from Sringeri Mutt.
The accused while interacting closely with the victim learnt about her marriage to the owner of the company where she had worked earlier .
The accused later started blackmailing forcing her to demand ransom of two crore from her husband,the company owner.
The accused allegedly accessed her phone transferred private photographs and voice records,which she shared with her relatives and friends,the FIR noted.
