An 18-year-old delivery executive was abducted and beaten to death by a local money lender and his friend,a habitual offender to recover ₹10,000 the deceased had borrowed .
Adding to the worst,the accused even called the deceased elder brother and assaulted him too , threatening him with dire consequences to arrange the money.
The victim,who returned home after battered and bruised,succumbed to his injuries the next day while he was being taken to the hospital.
Based on the medico legal case,a zero FIR was filed with the jurisdictional Taverekere police station limits on September 8 which was later transferred to the Jnanabharati police station for further investigation.
While the police have registered a case of murder against the money lender,Soma and his friend Rajesha, and his associates who are on the run.
The victim Deepak Raj,18,worked as delivery agent while his brother was working as daily wage employee.The duo was living with their mother Yashodha,38,a single parent and employed with a garment factory .
The victim,reportedly had borrowed money from Soma on higher interest and unable to repay. Soma had called him on the fateful day in an isolated place at Manganahalli gudde and assaulted him black and blue beofe seizing his scooter.
The duo called his elder brother Praveen and assaulted him too before handing over the semi conscious Deepak Raj,warning to get the money and take back the scooter.
They also threatened the duo with dire consequences not to reveal this to anyone following which Deepak raj initially lied to his mother that he fell down from scooter and injured when asked about the injuries .
However a detailed probe,Praveen revealed the incident which prompted Yashodha to approach the police .
