A driver of Tempo traveller robbed two constructions labourers of their mobile phone and cash ₹1,500 on the pretext of offering them drop to their destination in Ramamurthynagar police station limits in the early hours.
The victim,Biswas and his friend had come to KR Puram railway station from their native.The duo was working as daily wage employee.It was around 3.30 am and the duo was waiting for the transportation to go home outside the station.
The accused driving Tempo Traveller vehicle approached them and offered drop.There was one person already seated inside the vehicle.The duo readily agreed and got in.
The Vehicle moved and on the way the driver stopped at an isolated place,armed with a spanner,robbed mobile phone and cash ₹1,500 from Biswas.
The accused later dropped the duo near Kasturi Nagar and sped away. The duo managed to reach the station and filed a complaint.The police based on the complaint verifying the CCTV footage to identify the accused vehicle .
