While investigating a bike theft case,the Siddapura police arrested a 24-year-old habitual offender and recovered 20 two-wheelers and an autorickshaw which he had stolen from in and around the city.
The accused identified as Salim Pasha from Wilson garden was caught red handed by alert patrolling police while he was moving suspiciously in a stolen bike .
A detailed questioning led him to confess based on which the police recovered the bikes and autorickshaw which he had parked in isolated place .
The accused according to the police used duplicate keys or break locks to steal the bikes parked in front of the houses .
He would perform stunts on stolen bikes and record to upload it on his social media account,the police,said .
Fearing getting caught the accused would hardly visit home and sleeps in the stolen autorickshaw most of the time,the officer said .
With his arrest the police have solved 14 bike theft cases reported in and around the city and further investigations are on .
