Bengaluru North Division police crackdown on 23 overstaying Foreigners & Owners who rent their house to Foreigners

As part of the special driver launched against over staying Foreigners and their house owners,the North Division Police alone have registered as many as 23 cases since January this year .

According to the police the special drive to crack down on the foreigners over staying in the city and the house owners who have rented out their premises without following the due diligence .

According to the police as per the rules,the house owners while renting out their premises to the foreign national have to submit form C to the FRRO and the jurisdictional police along with the copies of their tenants passport and visa .

This will help the police to keep a tab on the Foreign National and also to ensure their security , a police officer, said .

As per the report hundreds of Foreign Nationals from different countries are living in the city even after visa expiry and efforts are on to trace them down.

However there are many landlords in the city who failed to follow the rules and legal action has been taken against them and they are booked under registration of Foreigners Act, a senior police officer,said .

The Divisional police across the city have been instructed to keep a tab on the foreign nationals living in their area and should be updated by the beat police .

City police commissioner,Seemanth Kumar Singh , advised the landlords to follow the rules to avoid legal action.
