A 44-year-old goods vehicle driver was bludgeoned to death by his over a drunken brawl in nelagadaranahalli in Peenya on Thursday night’.
The deceased has been identified as Ranganath,native of Tumakuru living with his wife in nelagadaranahalli for the past two years.
According to the police Ranganath was an alcoholic used to drinking regularly.
On Thursday night,he was partying with his friend identified as Anand and both got drunk.
The duo in an inebriated state started arguing over a trivial issue.Enraged Anand picked up a stone and bludgeoned Ranganath to death before fleeing the spot.
The murder came to light on Friday morning when passers by noticed Ranganath body and alerted police .
The Peenya police have registered a case of murder and efforts to track down Anand who is on the run.
