A fire broke out in the engine of the moving Palace Queen Hamsafar Express train connecting Mysuru and Udaipur in Rajasthan on in Bengaluru South district due to suspected technical snag on Thurday morning.
It was a small fire noticed by the loco pilot and stopped the engine before alerting the station.The fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire.No one hurt in the accident,the officials, said .
According to officials,at around 11.45 am,the pilot noticed a spark in the engine while the train was moving at Channapatna spark was seen in the engine when the express train cross Channapatna.The alert loco pilot immediately halted the train and informed the control room.
A team of fire fighters were quickly deployed and with the help of railway officials,the fire was doused.After a short delay,an alternate engine was attached to the train and it resumed the journey.
Railway police said that Spark was noticed in the engine of Humsafar express from Mysuru to Udaipur.It was dealt with by loco,GRP.Engine was changed and it has resumed its journey a senior officer said.
