The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the fake drug manufacturing and distribution racket in Tavarekere has arrested the sixth accused,Prashanth,and secured his police custody for nine days.
Senior officer told reporters that Prashanth,who is A-6 in the case,was arrested by the SIT at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru around 6 am on Monday while he was allegedly attempting to flee abroad.
The accused was produced before Shishir R.,Judge of the Magadi I Additional Civil and Judicial magistrate of First Class Court,which remanded him to police custody until October 7,2026,for further interrogation.
The investigation is being conducted by the SIT headed by CID DySP,Anjan Kumar,under the guidance of Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (West) Vamshi Krishna.
The team is continuing its probe into the alleged network involved in the manufacture and sale of counterfeit medicines., which as apread in city and other parts of the state and outside the state .
