Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officials detained an Indian passenger and seized 15 kg of hydroponic ganja worth approximately Rs.5.25 crore at Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2.
The passenger,Suraj Suryavanshi,arrived from Bangkok on Thai Airways flight TG 325,which landed at around 11.55 pm on September 10.
During inspection,the Customs AIU team detected and recovered the hydroponic ganja allegedly being carried by the passenger.
A case has been registered against Suryavanshi under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,1985.
The accused was escorted out of the Passenger Terminal Building at around 9.20 am on September 11 and was taken before a Judicial Magistrate by Customs officials.
