The HAL Police have registered a case under Sections 115(2),118(1) and 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, following an alleged assault on a 27-year-old private firm employee.
According to the complaint,the incident occurred on August 6,2026,between 4:15 pm and 5:00 pm,near the Indian Bank building.
The complainant stated that while waiting there along with a friend,a cream-coloured car bearing registration number KA-03-NT-2067 came to the spot.
The complainant alleged that the person inside the vehicle,apparently under the influence of alcohol,got out and began abusing and questioning the two men.
When they asked him who he was and why he was questioning them,he reportedly grew angry,used abusive language and struck the complainant with a beer bottle.
When the complainant tried to record the incident on his mobile phone,the accused allegedly snatched the phone, hit him on the face with it and also assaulted his friend.
The complainant further stated that the accused punched both of them and caused injuries.
The incident reportedly took place in front of the Indian Bank building and CCTV footage is said to be available.
The complainant has also stated that the entire sequence of events was captured on his mobile phone.
Police said further action will be taken against the accused as per law.
