The Karnataka Government on Tuesday issued a notification ordering the transfer and posting of three senior IPS officers with immediate effect.
According to the order,Ravi S,(1998 batch),who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence),has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police,Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP).He replaces Sandeep Patil,IPS, who has been relieved from holding concurrent charge of the post.
In another key change,Labhu Ram,(2004 batch), Inspector General of Police (Central Range),Bengaluru, has been posted as Inspector General of Police (Intelligence).




The position has been downgraded following the transfer of Ravi S.
Further,S.Girish,(2012 batch),Deputy Inspector General of Police,Anti-Narcotic Task Force,has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Range,Bengaluru,also in a downgraded post vacated by Labhu Ram.
The government also clarified that the post of Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Inspector General of Police,Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under Rule 12 of the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
Similarly,the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Range,Bengaluru has been declared equivalent to the cadre post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID under the same rules.
