More trouble for 51-year-old city based businessman who was arrested by Pulakeshinagar police for allegedly blackmailling and sexually harassing a woman custom officer,has now booked twice for assaulting police personnel and creating ruckus during medical examination.
The accused M Kriplani,resident of Indiranagar was arrested by Pulakeshinagar police on last Sunday,for allegedly blackmailing and sexually assaulting a female customs officer.
The arrest came after the officer filed a complaint accusing the electronics dealer of exploiting her trust and threatening to release private material to coerce her.
As part of the investigation, the police escorted the accused to bowring hospital for medical examination, where he displayed aggressive behavior.
While undergoing medical examination,he allegedly created a disturbance,misbehaved with police personnel,seized a mobile phone and smashed on the ground while issuing threats to the police personnel with dire consequences .
The police brought the incident to their higher ups and complained to the commercial street police.
The accused based on the advise taken to the Victoria hospital where he repeated the behaviour and created ruckus led to panic situation .
A separate case has also been registered against him at the VV Puram Police Station for his misconduct during custody.
The accused is a habitual offender involved in similar offence since last one decade.The accused was caught driving drunk ten years ago and created a ruckus with them and even filed a robbery case against the officials to harass them.
The case is now pending in Supreme court a police officer said .
Probe reveal that the accused who is a elctronic goods dealer and import material used to harass custom officials by blackmailing them.
He would get information about the officials through RTI and harass them and blackmail and raising complaint against the officials .
Using this modus operandi,the accused has harassed as many as 50 officials and blackmailed and harassed them using personal information, the offical,said .
The accused is presently remanded to judicial custody and further investigations are on.
