6-Year-Old girl abducted,murdered;Sexual Assault Suspected

In a gruesome incident,a six-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and murdered in the outskirts of Bengaluru under the limits of the Electronic City Police Station.

The victim,identified as Riviya (6),daughter of Rafeequlla, a native of Assam,was residing with her parents in a shed near Vittasandra in Begur.Her father works as a scrap collector and also takes up housekeeping jobs in nearby apartments.

Senior officer told reporters that the child went missing on Thursday evening while playing near her residence.

Despite frantic searches by her family and locals,she could not be traced.A missing complaint was lodged on Friday afternoon.

Based on the complaint,police launched a search operation.Later that night, the girl’s body was found in a eucalyptus grove near Bolugutta in the Electronic City outskirts.

A preliminary investigation suggests that unidentified miscreants abducted the child,strangled her to death, and dumped the body in the isolated grove.

The body has been shifted to St.John’s Medical College Hospital for post mortem and the police have stepped up investigations to track down the accused.
