Chief Secretary reviews IPL safety,traffic and Metro preparedness in Bengaluru

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) set to begin from tomorrow,Karnataka Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials and stakeholders to review safety and logistical arrangements for matches in the city.

During the meeting,she assessed the security measures put in place inside and around the stadium to ensure the safety of cricket fans.

Detailed discussions were held on traffic management plans, parking arrangements, availability of drinking water inside the venue, and other essential facilities.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed preparedness of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited,seeking information on expected passenger density,revised metro schedules,and additional security measures at metro stations during match days.

Emphasising zero tolerance towards lapses, she directed officials to ensure that no untoward incidents occurred,however minor.

She instructed all departments to strictly adhere to the guidelines and precautionary measures prescribed by the government for conducting the tournament.

Further,she directed concerned departments and organisations to remain on high alert and maintain continuous coordination, ensuring timely sharing of information among all stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Karnataka State Cricket Association,office bearers of Royal Challengers Bengaluru,the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,officials from civic agencies,the Metro Managing Director,and heads of various departments.
