Karnataka Home minister has ordered a probe by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) into a custodial death reported in Tumakuru.
Home Minister Dr.G.Parameshwara briefing the media said the decision was taken after initial reports raised concerns over the circumstances leading to the death.
“The exact cause of death is not yet known.Hence, a CID inquiry has been ordered,”he stated.
He added that while allegations have surfaced from the victim’s family claiming the death was due to assault,the truth will emerge only after a detailed investigation and post-mortem examination.
“If any wrongdoing is established,strict action will be taken against those responsible,”he assured.
The minister also said that all aspects of the case will be thoroughly examined,and a report will be submitted by the CID.
Meanwhile,referring to another recent incident, Parameshwara expressed concern over youths engaging in risky acts like performing stunts and creating reels, sometimes leading to fatal consequences.
He noted that despite police monitoring,such activities continue, posing challenges for law enforcement.
Further investigation into the custodial death is underway.
