The Thalaghatpura Police inspector and his team have busted an illegal storage of LPG cylinders racket and seized a total of 155 cylinders during a raid in South Bengaluru.
Based on a complaint filed on March 17, 2026,by the Food Inspector of Bengaluru South Taluk,a case was registered under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act.
The complaint alleged that a gas agency owner had unlawfully stored cylinders in a godown located in Vishweshwaraiah Industrial Layout,9th Phase,JP Nagar.
Acting on the tip-off,police conducted a raid at the premises and recovered 148 empty cylinders and seven filled 19-kg cylinders belonging to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (Bharat Gas),which were allegedly being stored in violation of norms.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West Division) Anita B.Hadannavar and supervised by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Subramanyapura Sub-Division) Girish S.B.
A team led by Police Inspector RS.Choudhari,along with staff from Thalaghatpura Police Station,executed the raid and detected the offence.
