Three youths were killed after the car they were travelling in rammed into the rear of a truck near Agara Cross on the outskirts of the city in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Kaggalipura police station in Bengaluru South district.
The deceased have been identified as Saif Pasha(22), who worked at a car interior garage;Yusuf Khan(22),an employee at a furniture shop—both residents of Tilak Nagar,and Azar Pasha (22),a painter and a resident of Siddapura in Jayanagar.
According to the police,the accident took place around 1.15 am when a sedan car (KA-01-MX-1007),driven by Saif Pasha,was heading towards Harohalli from Bengaluru along with his two friends. Police said the car was travelling at a high speed when the driver reportedly failed to notice a road hump and crashed into the rear of a cement-laden truck.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the front portion of the car completely mangled.
Meanwhile,another speeding Honda City car travelling behind Saif’s vehicle also crashed into a yellow board car.
However,the occupants of that vehicle sustained only minor injuries.
Saif Pasha died on the spot, while Yusuf Khan and Azar Pasha were critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital,where they were declared brought dead.
Police said the trio were on their way to visit Saif’s father’s graveyard in Harohalli when the accident occurred.
The Kaggalipura police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
